Lauritzen Gardens - Omaha's Botanical Garden Center

The Garden's Plant Communities Arboretum & Bird Sanctuary provides visitors the experience of walking through seven different plant communities. On their walk they can enjoy the birds attracted by the different communities. Visitors can learn more by reading wayside interpretive exhibits near each community.

The exhibits in the arboretum describe each community and the plants and birds typically found. Each exhibit highlights one of the birds and how to attract the bird. Within the Arboretum entry, interpretive exhibits describe the importance of plant communities and birds and identify nearby areas where visitors can visit the plant communities in their natural state.

The Workshop developed a masterplan to interpret the arboretum/bird sanctuary and designed 18 interpretive exhibits.
