Employment

Our firm does what most landscape architects wish they could do. Established 18 years ago, the Workshop is an acknowledged leader in environmental planning, progressive landscape architecture and sustainable design. We have a diverse range of project types and clients which creates an interesting mix of work. We encourage co-workers to grow professionally and personally by sharing responsibility and undertaking community service.

Our firm of landscape architects and interpretive planners is located in thriving Omaha, Nebraska. Omaha is surprisingly a great city with about 800,000 people in the metro area, a diverse arts and cultural scene, and easy access to bike trails, natural areas and "the boonies". Omaha's riverfront was recently redeveloped, the Qwest Center completed (17,000 seats for sports and national music acts) and the Old Market entertainment area expanded making downtown the place to hang. Suburbanites will find lots of shopping and subdivision choices. Good public schools make Omaha a great place if you have kids. To find out more about Omaha go to Greater Omaha Chamber of Commerce , Slam Omaha , Omaha World Herald , Omaha By Design, or Google "Omaha" to find more sites.

Our office is located in Basswood Lodge, an Arts and Crafts inspired office building in historic and colorfully ethnic South Omaha. Preserving the mature trees around the Lodge resulted in BMW receiving a national award for tree preservation. Our offices are filled with light, have windows that open and are a good place to spend part of the day. We are landscape architects and exhibit designers who actually work in a garden setting.

If you have a desire to become a team player in a good design firm and want to grow professionally, please email a letter of interest, resume, work examples and general salary expectations to kblesener@bigmuddyworkshop.com .
