Mount Vernon Gardens

								


										
      Located overlooking the Missouri River, as George Washington's
      estate Mount Vernon overlooks the Potomac, Mt. Vernon Gardens
      is a half-scale replica of Washington's estate. This historic
      park was redeveloped to restore its historic integrity while
      providing accessible paths. Extensive research on the Gardens'
      original development, a site inventory and interviews with maintenance
      staff and the Mount Vernon Ladies Association, owner of the Mount
      Vernon estate in Virginia, guided the redevelopment.
