Mandan Park 

      Mandan Park 

      This historic Omaha park, with wooded bluffs and Missouri River
      vistas, was redeveloped to retain its wilderness feeling while
      encouraging family use. At the north end of the park, visitors
      spiral up an accessible path to the top of an earthen mound for
      dramatic views of the river. At the south end, picnic and playground
      area hosts family and group picnics and birthday parties.

      
The Discovery Play Area includes
      playground equipment and a sand play area. Buried in the sand
      play area are replicas of Nebraska fossils for budding paleontologists
      and archeologists, to discover. The buried items are described
      on a nearby interpretive exhibit.
