Hanscom Park Rehabilitation
Omaha's oldest remaining park, Hanscom Park was designed by H.W. Cleveland. After conducting research on the history of the park, the Workshop developed a master plan for the rehabilitation of the park and oversaw implementation of the improvements. The rehabilitation respected remaining historic elements, restored destroyed and degraded features, and integrated universal access to many park features. One of the most popular improvements was the rebuilding of the lagoon and development of accessible fishing areas and a walkway around the lagoon. Two interpretive exhibits were also developed that describe the history of the park's extensive gardens and its lagoon.
