BACK TO THE RIVER
Trails & River Crossing Plan
This plan is a comprehensive trail routing and river crossing
location study. It defines a vision of how the riverfront trails
will provide access along the Missouri River, connecting parks,
open spaces and public attractions along the river. The plan
describes and illustrates detailed trail routing for 128 miles
of urban and rural trail systems, running along the east and
west sides of the river and connecting to existing trails in
Iowa and Nebraska. The plan also outlines construction and design
costs for the various trail segments.
The analysis also includes a study of potential pedestrian
crossings, utilizing existing roadway bridges that span the Missouri.
