Boyer Chute National Wildlife Refuge Master Plan
This plan established design criteria and habitat restoration goals for the first backwater restoration project of the Missouri River Corridor Project. It included deepening and reconnection of its cut-off chute to the Missouri, reestablishment of native prairie, wet meadows and wetlands, expansion of existing flood plain forest and development of resource-based recreation facilities along the eastern edge of the 2,000+ acre site. Now fully implemented, the National Wildlife Refuge was recently authorized to expand up to 6,000 acres.
